CarbonFresh 5A molecular sieve is a high-performance alkali metal aluminosilicate in spherical bead form. It is the calcium form of the A-type crystal structure, with an effective pore size of 5 Ångströms (5Å). Molecules with a diameter larger than 5Å, such as isomerized compounds and all 4-carbon ring compounds, will not be adsorbed. Adsorbable molecules include n-butane (nC₄H₁₀), iso-butane (iC₄H₁₀), propane (C₃H₈) to C₂₂H₄₆, and Freon-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane).
